MRS. M. FAIFERLICK DIES SUDDENLY
Mrs. Mary Faiferlick, 77, who made her home at 109 North Thirteenth Street,
died at her home early Wednesday afternoon, following a short illness. Mrs.
Faiferlick, who had been a medical patient at Mercy Hospital for the past ten
days, had just returned home from the hospital when she became seriously ill
and died within a short time.
Surviving her are four children, Mrs. Earl Pooler of El Monte, Calif.,
Richard Faiferlick, RFD 1, Fort Dodge, Harry Faiferlick of Ontario, Calif.,
and Mrs. Fred Stanek, RFD 1, Fort Dodge. Her husband, Matthew Faiferlick,
died in 1948.

FUNERAL RITES MONDAY FOR MRS. FAIFERLICK
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Faiferlick, 77, who made her home at 109 North
Thirteenth Street, will be held Monday morning at 8:30 at the Laufersweiler
Funeral Home and at 9:00 at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in Corpus
Christi Cemetery.
The body is at the funeral home, where friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday.
Rosary services will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings at 8:00 at
the funeral home.
Mrs. Faiferlick died suddenly at her home Wednesday afternoon. She had
returned to her home from Mercy Hospital, where she had been hospitalized
during a short illness, only a few minutes before she was stricken.
Her survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Earl Pooler of El Monte, Calif.,
and Mrs. Fred Stanek, RFD 1, Fort Dodge; and two sons, Richard faiferlick of
RFD 1, Fort Dodge, and Harry Faiferlick, Ontario, Calif. Seventeen
grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Anna Anderson of
Callender and Mrs. Urban Lentsch of Clare; and one brother, Edward Slama of
Winnebago, Minn., also survive.
Her husband, Matthew Faiferlick, died in 1948. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Joseph Slama; two sisters, Mrs. Louis Julius and Miss Catherine Slama; and
three brothers, Joe, Michael and Frank Slama, preceded her in death.
A resident of Fort Dodge for 26 years, Mrs. Faiferlick was born in Madison,
Wisc., on December 14, 1877.
Dale Faiferlick, Francis Prendergast, Joseph Julius, Raymond Lentsch, Edward
Slama and Clarence Slama served as pallbearers. The flowers were arranged by
Mr. and Mrs. Ben Oleson, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Oleson and Mrs. Joseph Julius.
During the service Miss Patricia Gray, Miss Patricia Collins and Welch
Laufersweiler sang. Miss Gray also played the organ accompaniment.
The rites were attended by hundreds of friends and relatives of Mrs.
Faiferlick.
The former Mary Slama, she moved to Webster County with her parents as a
small child. She attended the rural schools of this county. Her marriage to
Matthew P. Faiferlick took place on September 26, 1896, In Webster County.
The couple farmed six miles south of Fort Dodge for many years. They retired
from farming in 1928 and moved to Fort Dodge.
