Philip Fishel was born in Ohio. He was married to Catherine Lytle in Ohio on April 5, 1840 and they removed to Elk twp., Clayton co. in 1850. Philip served as an early Director of the Elk twp. schools, on the Board of Supervisors and was a Justice of the Peace.

Philip and Catherine were the parents of Levi W., Sarah J. (married John Rizer) and John.

Catherine died in 1896 and Philip in 1904. They are buried at Edgewood, Delaware co. IA

Levi married Plezzy Lewis, the daughter of A.G. and Mary Ann (Walter) Lewis.

Levi died in 1911, with in Mt. Harmony cemetery. Plezzy remarried after Levi's death to Eli Livingston. She died in 1927 and is also buried in Mt. Harmony cemetery.

Stella Irene Fishel

Stella Irene Fishel was married to Wilbur Phelps on March 4, 1889.

Wilbur died on Dec 20 1929 at the family home in Colesburg. Stella died May 7, 1936. They are buried in Oak Hill cemetery, Colesburg, Delaware co. IA.
