BENJAMIN F. TAYLOR was born in Noble County, Ohio, on November 18, 1850. At age thirteen, his family moved to Mahaska County, Iowa, and in 1872, Benjamin Taylor moved to Cass County. He settled in Brighton Township on land he had purchased several years earlier in the west half of the southeast quarter of Section 12, two miles north and three miles east of marne, where Lyle Harris lives. B. F. Taylor made a specialty of raising hogs. He married Ida Herbert in Wiota in 1875 and as of 1884 there were four children - Corwin, Henry C., Nora C. and Arthur Clayton Taylor.
