HENRY BUCH was of German ancestry and was one of the five original stockholders in the Marne Town Company. He had lived in Davenport, Iowa, prior to moving to the new town of Marne in 1875, where he and Fred Wersenger established a hardware store as a partnership in October, 1875. This partnership was dissolved in 1878 and Henry Buch went into business in his own hardware store in 1879.
