ROBERT A. BERRY, brother of John W. Berry was born in Menard County, Illinois, on May 15, 1848. He arrived in Brighton Township from Illinois in 1869 and lived with his brother for one year, then purchased a 200-acre tract of land in Section 30, about two miles west and 1/2 mile south of the site of Marne. He married Jennie Johnson, daughter of Thomas and Betsey Johnson of Brighton Township.
