1. Chas. F. STRUTZ, merchant tailor, Atlantic, Iowa, was born in Germany, September 11, 1855, and came to this country and Chicago in 1872 and to Altantic in 1873. He worked at the tailoring trade here for one and one-half years and then went to Council Bluffs and worked nine years, returning to Atlantic and engaging in business for himself nineteen years ago. He was married at Council Bluffs and has seven children. He is thoroughly master of his business and has a large and growing trade. He takes a good deal of interest in benevolent and fraternal associations and is an enterprising citizen. He employs a large force of help in the busy season and his trade embraces all of Western Iowa. His reputation for perfect fits and first-class work is unexcelled.
2. Emery BURGNER, merchant tailor, Atlantic, Iowa, was born in Ohio, February 17, 1869, and lived there until he came to Atlantic six years ago last April. Arriving here he found employment with the STEINKE Tailoring Establishment, remaining with it until two years ago, when he engaged in the tailoring business for himself on Fourth Street in the rooms now occupied by WHIPPLE & SHROCK's establishment. Later he removed to his present location, first door south of the Bailey Block, and has continued there ever since. His business has prospered and he employs from three to seven people. He handles the best makes of imported and domestic cloths and has established a reputation for excellent fits and well made garments. He is a member of the Knights of Pythias and is pushing and progressive in business and public matters.
