Clara Tollefsrud
(May 18, 1895 – March 2, 1907)Obituary
Clara, daughter of Peder E. Tollefsrud, was born May 18, 1895, baptized on June 27, 1895, and died after an illness of five days, at about one o’clock, Saturday morning, March 2, 1907, at the age of 11 years, 9 months and 12 days. During her illness, which began as measles, she was always thinking of her playmates and friends who were having the same disease and saying, “Poor souls, I hope they don’t have to suffer like I do.” On Friday, she did not seem to gather her thoughts very much, but a few hours before her death, she repeated the Lord’s Prayer twice. Her father, one brother and five sisters are left to mourn her death, her mother and one little brother having gone before. The funeral was solemnized, Tuesday afternoon at two o’clock by Rev. M. E. Waldeland, at the Deer Creek N. E. L. church, where the remains were laid to rest. “Of such is the Kingdom of Heaven”
