Olive Brattrud
(May 4, 1849 – June 24, 1907)Obituary
Mrs. Knut Brattrud passed away quietly at her home east of town early Monday morning June 24, 1907. The principal cause of her death being heart failure. She had not been well for several months and while her illness was regarded incurable the end of her life was not thought to be so near. The preceeding day she was able to be up, retired the same as usual that evening, and fell into a sleep from which she apparently never awoke. The deceased maiden name was Olive Gorden. She was born in Dane County Wis., May 4, 1849, being now a little past 58 years of age. She was married to Knut Brattrude nearly forty years ago. Eleven children have been born to them, all of which are living. Mrs. Brattrud was a knid hearted woman and had many friends to mourn her loss. She will be missed by her husband and children in the home that she so cheerfully presided over for so many years. Funeral services were held at the Lutheran church west of town, Wednesday and the remains were laid at rest in the Brush Point Cemetery, in the presence of a large number of friends and relatives. The surviving family have the heartfelt sympathy of the whole community in their said bereavement. – Hanlontown News
