After a long battle with illness, Alan R. Anderson passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2019, in Houston, Texas. Services were held at the Forest Park Funeral Home – The Woodlands, The Woodlands, Texas, on October 12, 2019.

Alan was born on July 16, 1935, in Forest City, Iowa, to Burdett and Jennie Anderson. Raised in Forest City, he married Karen Holtan. Following their wedding, they moved to Michigan to begin a career starting in the stock room. Nonetheless, he retired as a Chief Executive Officer of a retail company. A devout Christian, he devoted himself after retiring to tending to family needs, mentoring several young men in their church, Chestnut Mountain Presbyterian Church, and supporting many others in need.

He leaves behind Karen (Holtan) Anderson, his loving wife of sixty-six years; three sons: Tim, Scott, and Greg; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren; as well as many other family members and friends.
