May 13, 1933 - July 31, 2019

Constance E. “Peggy” Tjelta, 86, of Forest City, died on Wednesday, July 31, 2019, at the Good Samaritan Center in Forest City, Iowa.

Peg was born on May 13, 1933, in Forest City, Iowa, to Warren and Mildred (Bolsinger) Faber. Baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Forest City, Peggy attended and then graduated from Forest City High School in 1952. Next, she enrolled at Waldorf College. On August 26, 1955, she married Harry Tjelta in Forest City. They farmed for many years in rural Forest City before moving into town in 1969. Then, they both worked for Winnebago Industries until they retired. She belonged to the United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, and the Forest City American Legion Post #121.

Peg liked driving and traveling. Indeed, she and Harry traveled to Hawaii, Texas, California, Alaska, Arizona, Canada, Yellowstone National Park, and Branson, Missouri, many times. In addition, she enjoyed the times she spent with her extended family and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Peg is survived by her nieces, nephews, and special friend, Jody Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry, in 2011; and her brothers, Delbert “Bud” and Don Faber; and her sister, Betty Indvik.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 6, 2019, at the United Methodist Church in Forest City with Pastor Les Green officiating. Visitation is scheduled for one hour before the services at the church on Tuesday. Interment will follow in Madison Township Cemetery in Forest City. Memorials may be directed to the United Methodist Church in Forest City.
