BODY CUT INTO
~
Fort Dodge, Ia. Feb 4, - George Miner of Britt was struck and instantly killed by a freight train on the Milwaukee & St. Louis railroad near here Friday afternoon. The train was switching and detached several cars on the sidetrack. Miner was walking beside the track and being deaf, did not hear the approaching cars. Just before they reached him, he stepped on the track and was struck. His body was cut completely two. A son of the deceased, Giledon Miner, was travelling through the country in wagons with a stereopticon exhibition and had reached Fort Dodge this morning. The police authorities here had been notified and the young man was met by the sad news of his father’s death when he arrived in the city. Young Miner was almost prostrated by the shock and left on the first train for Britt.
