Fort Dodge, Jan. 3 – Charles F. Wickham, a prosperous farmer living near Kneirim, a small town not far from Fort Dodge, and Katie Backradt, of Henzel Waldeck, Germany, were man and wife at the German Methodist Church of this city on New Year’s Eve. The couple who entered upon married life during the solemn hours of the passing of the old century and the dawning of the new, are a singularly assorted pair. The man is a groom upon whom the passage of 64 long years has left its trace where the fair bride is a buxom German beauty of 22 summers. This is not Wickham’s first venture upon the matrimonial sea, as he already has a record of three marriages to his credit, but this fact does not seem to interfere in the least with affection in which he holds his comely bride from over the seas. The newly married pair are to all appearances the happiest couple which ever left a Fort Dodge church together as man and wife. Wickam is well to do, and he and his bride well make their home on his well-stocked farm near Kneirim, to resume the peaceful contented life of their parents in the fatherland.
