I located David Benson's gravesite in the Richmond Cemetery, along with pertinent family information. He is not an immediate tie - in to my g g grandfather, but I think there is a relationship connection there, somehow. I suspect that he is the first cousin to my g g grandfather, John W. Benson, who married Emily Maria Maulsby in Washington County, in 1854. I still need to confirm or disconfirm that notion somehow.
