I found a record in the National Park Service, Soldiers and Sailors Database for the Civil War for a David H. Kyle in the 121st Regiment, Ohio Infantry.
I found a record on Ancestry.com for David C. Kyle in the CW Draft Registrations 1863-1865: Cedarville, Greene, Ohio, Congressional District 7th; age on 1 July 1863 - 22; birth year - 1841; born - Ohio; white; unmarried; farmer. Note says he was in the Infantry 1 month, discharged and had disability.
FYI. Book on Washington County history shows that David C. Kyle was County Surveyor 1882 and 1893-1897; City of Washington Justice of the Peace 1879; and Mayor 1883.
