David & Margaret Esson came to Jones County as part of the Selkirk colonists in @ 1837, lived there and moved to the Dubuque area @ 10 years later. Their son Alexander died @ age 3 and was buried in the Dubuque Protestant Cemetery. I would like to know more about their live in Dubuque, including that of their children. My great-grandmother was their daughter Francis Isabella Esson who married Martin Newton Kellogg and lived with him in St. Paul.
