Joseph M. Martin

Joseph Marshall Martin, son of Joseph and Amber (Williams) Martin, was born June 7, 1928 at Fairfield, Iowa and died September 14, 1991 at the Decatur County Hospital, Leon, Iowa at the age of 63 years.

Joe moved around the country, living in California, Colorado and Iowa. He was a cab driver in Davenport, Iowa and has also worked in nursing homes. He had lived in Des Moines, Iowa before moving to Garden Grove, Iowa 3 years ago.

Preceding him in death were his father; 2 brothers; Robert Wiley and Jimmie Martin; and one sister Grace Lucas.

Survisors(err) include his mother Amber Woody of Augusta, Kansas; brothers: Harold Martin and wife Mary of Augusta; William Dudley Martin and wife Mary of Sigourney, Iowa and Freeman Woody of Wichita, Kansas; sister Bonnie Johnson and husband Raymond of Douds, Iowa; aunt Lucille Scotten of Bonaparte, Iowa; his former wife Lily Foust of Garden Grove; other relatives and friends.

Graveside services were held at 10:30 a.m. September 19, 1991 at the Leon Cemetery with Rev. Robert Cumings officiating. Arrangements were made through the Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home, Leon, Iowa.
