Elizabeth Hayden

Elizabeth Hayden, 94, a resident of Santa Barbara, California, died at 4 p.m. on May 19, 1991.

The daughter of James F. and Carolyn Laughlin Hayden, she was born Sept. 10, 1896, in Iowa, near Eldon.

Elizabeth attended school in Fairfield, Iowa and completed high school in Eldon, Iowa. She graduated from the University of Iowa in 1916. She taught in Eldon High School and later taught Home Ed and coached girls basketball on Stanton, Iowa. She taught in Los Angeles City Schools from Sept. 10, 1923 to June 30, 1957, when she retired.

She is survived by 10 nieces and nephews.

The body was cremated and memorial services will be held at Fell Cemetery near Libertyville, Iowa.
