Glen Raymond Kisling

Glen Raymond Kisling, age 68, Waterloo, Iowa died Friday, July 6, 1990 from complications following a heart attack.

He was born June 25, 1922 near Mt. Zion, Van Buren County, son of Harvey Raymond and Jessie Franklin Kisling.

He married Neva Moore October 20, 1940. They were divorced in 1979. He married Jean Herzog on May 1, 1982 in Waterloo.

He graduated from Oskaloosa High School i 1939.

Mr. Kisling was employed as a supervisor for North-western Bell Telephone Co. for 33 years retiring in 1982. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and Korean War.

He retired as a Brig. General of the Iowa National Guard and was past president of the retired Military Officers Association.

Survivors include his wife, five sons, Allen, Phoeniz(err), Arizona, Lee of Hudson, Wisconsin, James of Evansdale, Iowa, Russell of Des Moines and Dean of Oregon; two stepsons, Dan (Hrzog) of Lawrence, Kansas and Jess Herzog of Wichita, Kansas; six grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren; a brother Everett of Locust Grove, Okla.; two sisters, Elizabeth Benge of Pryor, Oklahoma and Juna May Silvers of Calimesa, California.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Inor, and a sister, Caroline Ashley.

Memorial services were held at Bethel Presbyterian Church July 11, 1990. Burial was at Waterloo Memorial Park, Cemetery.
