Raymond D. Gay died July 24, 1990 in Croton, Iowa at the age of 63.

Born June 1927 in Leadville, Colorado he graduated from Saint Mary's School and Leadville High School.

He married M. Alice Wise on April 17, 1949 and the couple lived in Leadville until his health caused them to move to Croton in 1977. He worked as a welder at Amax and enjoyed building things.

Mr. Gay was a longtime member of the Leadville Moose Lodge #342, the Rocky Mountain Archers Club and was active in Boy Scouts of America.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice Gay and Ida Switzer Gay, two sisters, Eileen and Freda, and one brother, William.

Surviving are his wife, Alice, of Croton; two daughters, Rhonda Claman of Croton and Regina Caviness of Nevada, Missouri; three sons, Brock and Kirk Gay of Leadville, Colorado and Ricky Gay of Croton; two sisters, Shirley Mefford of Denver, Colorado and Alice Taylor of San Antonio, Texas; two brothers, Corkey Gay of Castle Rock, Colorado and Morris Gay of Leadville, Colorado; and nine grandchildren.

Interment took place in St. Joseph Cemetery in Leadville. Haufbauer Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.
