Leo A. Miller

Leo A. Miller, 93, of Keosauqua died suddenly Sunday afternoon in Marshalltown, Iowa.

The son of Fossy B. and Floy Ely Miller, he was born July 28, 1906 near Keosauqua. He attended schools in Keosauqua, had worked as a rural mail carrier, and farmed north of Keosauqua. He retired and moved to town in 1972. He married Beryl Merrick at Fairfield January 26, 1927. She died in 1976. He later married Eva Pool Lynch in Marshalltown in 1978.

Surviving are his wife, one son Dwight Miller, West Branch, Iowa; one daughter, Dorothy Shobe, Milton, Iowa; two stepsons, Dwayne and Clarence Andrews, both of Marshalltown; three step daughters, Wilma Geddes, Melbourne, Iowa, Carolyn Salasek and Virginia Long, both of Marshalltown; five granddaughters, nine great-grandchildren, nineteen step-grandchildren, seventeen step great-grandchildren; his twin brother Lex of Keosauqua.

He was preceded in death by one step-grandson Ralph Andrews and a brother. He was a member of the Keosauqua United Methodist Church, charter member of the Robert's Foundation Board, and Van Buren Historical Society. He was a past member and president of the Van Buren County Fair Board, Keosauqua Lion's Club and Van Buren County Farm Bureau.

The funeral service will be Thursday, June 28, 1990 at 2 p.m. at Keosauqua United Methodist Church with Rev. Chrisa Ferguson officiating. Interment in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Keosauqua.

Memorial contributions ma be made to Keosauqua United Methodist Church or The American Heart Association. Funeral arrangements were in charge of Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 27 from 7 to 9 p.m.
