Philip Strong was born on Sep 11, 1888, in Brooklyn, Schuyler County, Illinois. He passed away on Jan 6, 1962 in Memphis, Scotland County, Missouri.

Philip is the son of Edgar Earl Strong and Mary Agnes (Chipman) Strong. He was united in marriage to Nellie Belle Blackburn on Aug 27, 1912 in Keosauqua, Iowa. Together, they had nine children: Dorothy May (Strong) Frueh, Mary Evelyn (Strong) (Drummond) Justice, Hazel Isabella (Strong) Drummond, Philip Neal Strong, Nellie Belle (Strong) Howard, Hila Arlene (Strong) Lamb, Harold Edgar Strong, Donna V. (Strong) Hatley, and Ivan Strong.

He is buried at the Center Chapel Cemetery in Van Buren County, Iowa.
