Nellie Belle Blackburn is the daughter of William Blackburn and Mary Eliza Wolfe. She wed Philip Strong August 27, 1912 in Keosauqua, Iowa. They had nine children: Dorothy Mae (Strong) Freuh, Mary Evelyn (Strong) (Drummond) Justice, Hazel Isabella (Strong) Drummond, Philip Neal Strong, Nellie Belle (Strong) Howard, Hila Arlene (Strong) Lamb, Harold Edgar Strong, Donna Ve (Strong) Hatley, and Ivan Strong.

She was a loving wife and mother. Services were held on November 17th at the Gerth & Baskett Chapel in Memphis. Burial was in the Center Chapel Cemetery in Van Buren Co., Iowa.
