Former Roland Woman Is Dead

Special to the Journal:
Roland, March 3--Funeral services for the late Mrs. A. L. Anderson of Thompson, former Roland resident, were held at Bergen church last Friday afternoon with the Rev. M. O. Sumstad in charge. Burial was made in the local cemetery. Betsy Hegland Anderson was the daughter of the late Thor and Borghild Hegland, being the oldest of six children. Her early life was spent in her native country. She came to America with her parents at the age of eighteen years, locating at Roland, Iowa. She was married to Andrew L. Anderson in 1895. He passed away in 1936. To this union 11 children were born, one son Harvey dying in 1914. She continued to live at Roland until 1920 when the family moved to Winnebago county. She leaves to mourn her death six sons: Clarence, Marion, Milburn, Erven, all of Thompson; Casper of Bowden, N. Dak.; Reuben of Forrest City; four daughters Betty of Thompson, Mrs. H. O. Haagenson of Leland, Mrs. Chelleen of Laurens and Charlotte of Glendale, California.
