Funeral Services Held at Gilbert for Carl Lee

Gilbert, Feb. 21 -- Carl Lee, 58, Boone county farmer, died on Thursday at the Mary Greeley hospital in Ames after an illness of three days.

Rev. T. T. Heimarck conducted the funeral services from the home and the Gilbert Lutheran church on Monday. Arlene and Homer Lewis of Slater sang two duets, at the home, "God Will Take Care of You," and at the church service, "Sometime We'll Understand." A duet, "I'm But a Stranger Here," was sung by Pauline Johnson and Leah Charlson.

Mr. Lee was born in Skjold, Norway, Jan. 21, 1883. Surviving are his wife, two sons, Chester and Ronald, two daughters, Myrtle and Catherine, all at home, two brothers, S. B. Lee of Smithland, Ia., and George of Sanborn, Minn., Carl of Huxley and M. T. Lee of Madrid, and his father Torgels Lee of Skjold, Norway.

Pallbearers were N. H. Johnson, J. T. Heggen, Jim McDonald, Benny Tesdahl, Eddie Tesdahl and Sanford Tesdahl.

Mr. Lee was a faithful member of the Gilbert Lutheran church, and had attended services prior to his passing.

Many relatives and friends were present to pay their last respect in his memory. The many floral pieces were evidence of the high esteem in which he was held.
