Mrs. Margaret Rosendale, age 93, of Granville, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at the Orange City Area Health System.

There will be a private family graveside service on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at the Hospers Cemetery near Hospers. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, at 11:00am, at the Archer Reformed Church in Archer, with the Rev. Milt Sikkema officiating. A meal and a time of visitation with the family will take place at the church immediately following the service. The Oolman Funeral Home in Hospers is in charge of arrangements.

Margaret was born on December 7, 1930, in Harrison, South Dakota, the daughter of John H. and Gertrude (Koop) Tiemens. At the age of four, her family moved to Denver, Colorado, where she graduated from South High School.

On July 10, 1953, she was united in marriage to Vernon Dean Rosendale, in Denver. In addition to raising their three daughters, Margaret worked as an operator for the Mountain State Telephone Company and then in the Deli department of the local Safeway. In 2000, she and Vern moved to an acreage near Granville, and became members of the Archer Reformed Church. Vern passed away on November 25, 2016, in Orange City, after more than 63 years of marriage.

In her spare time, Margaret enjoyed watching football, going bowling, sewing, and doing needle point. Her family was important to her, and she enjoyed going on many family camping trips with them.

Survivors include her three daughters and their husbands, Trudy and Bernard Bolt, of Overland Park, Kansas; Carolyn and Paul Davenport; and Nancy and Stan Hoogland, all of Granville; five grandchildren, Tara Bolt; John Davenport, and his wife, Emilie; Darren Hoogland, and his wife, Debra; Cory Hoogland, and his wife, Dr. Ashley; and KayLynn, and her husband, Elmer Rolfes; and twelve great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two grandsons, Jeremy P. Davenport and Nathan Hoogland.

Memorials will be given to the Archer Reformed Church and Village Northwest Unlimited in Sheldon.
