Jack Chavis, 88, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2011.
Services were held at J.E. Foust & Son Funeral Home Grapevine, TX, Interment: Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, OR.
Should friends desire, memorials may be given to the National Parkinson Foundation, Gift Processing Center, PO Box 5018, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5018.
Captain Jack as he was lovingly referred to, was born on June 16, 1923 in Sioux City, IA. He was a loving and devoted husband of 65 years, father, grandfather and friend. Jack served proudly in the U.S. Navy during WWII and loved the Navy and being by the sea.
Survivors: Wife, May Chavis, Keller, TX; daughter, Mona Webster and Norman Broyles, Keller, TX; son, Daniel Chavis and wife Patryce, Olympia, WA; grandchildren, Pamela Schwartz and husband Tim, Bothell, WA, Michael Webster and wife Meredith, Dallas, TX, Nicholas Webster, Keller, TX, and Jacob Chavis and fiancée, Lisa Loftus, CA; great-grandchildren, Matthew and Emily Schwartz, Bottell, WA.
