Hi Marilyn,
Did you happen to talk with the manager at Oakdale, or their volunteer historian Dustin Oliver? They are great with lookups (at Oakdale), and I know several graves don't or may no longer have stones. You can reach the manager at: oakdaleomg@aol.com or (563) 324-5121.
There is a Richard Porter at Oakdale in Wilton. The death year is different. You can view that record on the IAGenWeb Muscatine county page here: http://iagenweb.org/muscatine/cemetery/oakdale_l-p.htm
That same Richard Porter is noted as having an obit at the Musser Public Library: http://iagenweb.org/muscatine/mplnewspapers/obits_ph-py.htm . The library will do lookups for a small fee. If you were able to get that obit, you may be able to narrow the field a bit.
