Funeral services for Joe McCoy, 81, Davenport and formerly of the Durant-Wilton area, were held July 15, 1989 at Lacock Funeral Home in Wilton, with the Rev. Telford Dindinger officiating. Pallbearers were Larry Linnenbrink, Ray Voight, Ray Meinert, Fred Cook, Harlan Finck and Laurence Kessler. Burial was in the Oakdale cemetery.

Mr. McCoy died July 13 at Mercy hospital in Davenport.

The son of Adam and Georgia Call McCoy, he was born Jan.17, 1908 in LeClaire. He married Ethel Lee Oct. 26, 1935 in Rock Island, Ill.

Mr. McCoy was a member of the Durant American Legion and worked as a building contractor and carpenter in the Durant area for more than 20 years. He also served as a building inspector for Scott county for 6 years, was a member of the Scott County Health Department for 12 years and was coordinator for the Bettendorf REHAB Housing Project.

He is survived by his wife, a niece and a nephew. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and a sister.
