JOHN BALL
John Ball, for many years a resident of Wall Lake Township, Sac County, iowa, died Wednesday, November 21,1906, at his home in Douglas township, Union County, Iowa, near the city of Creston, after an illness with organic heart disease, lasting about six months. His wife and son Theron brought his body to Sac City for burial, arriving on Friday evening, and the funeral took place on Saturday afternoon in the Christian Church, the Rev. J. Irving Brown delivering the funeral discourse. The interment was in Oakland Cemetery, Sac City.
Mr. Ball was born in Schoharie County, New York, May 15,1845, and lived in that state until he was nine years of age, when he came to Linn County, Iowa. In March 1881 he married Alice Whisensand and they moved to his county. A few years ago Mr. Ball disposed of his interests here and moved to southern Iowa. He united with the Christian Church at Pleasant Prairie in Wall Lake Township about twelve years ago and continued his faithful membership until life's close. He was an estimable citizen and was highly respected by his neighbors and friends in this county.
There are three children living to mourn his demise along with his companion of twenty-five years, namely; Mrs. Florence Baumann, of Kent, Iowa; Mrs. Sarah Aldrich, of this vicinity; and Theron Ball.
