Elizabeth Mae Watson

Mae Watson, 94, died of a heart ailment Monday, January 10, 2000, at Carlisle Care Center, Carlisle, Iowa.

Mrs. Watson was born December 10, 1905, at home on the farm south of Kellerton, Iowa. She was a retired teacher from Ringgold County and had also been a homemaker.

On August 27, 1927, she married Roland “Bo” Watson at the Methodist Parsonage in Kellerton. The service was performed by the Rev. C.E. Clark. To this union four children were born: Carolyn Mae, Sarah Cathryn, and twins, James Calvin and John Franklin.

She was a member of the Fort Des Moines Presbyterian Church and very active in the South Des Moines Garden Club. She always had a large garden and did a lot of canning. She also liked plants and flowers, She lived in her home in Fort Des Moines from 1927 until entering the Carlisle Care Center.

Services were held at the Southtown Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Elly officiating. Interment is in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Des Moines, Iowa.
