Dr. M. Camp
Marshall Camp was born December 28, 1853 in Wayne County, Iowa, where he grew to manhood. He graduated in medicine at Iowa City in 1881 and started his practice in Freedom, Iowa. He later moved to Kellerton where he practiced with his brother for several years.
In 1899, he moved to Hixie, Kansas, where he practiced two years and then returned to Iowa. He moved to Decatur in 1904.
He was married in 1880 to Arabella Hayes who died in 1897. To this union, three children were born, Cora, May, and Carroll. May died in infancy.
In 1898 he was married to Harriet Shields. To this union was born two children, Helen and Vivian.
He is survived by his wife, four children, an aged mother, two brothers, Dr. Camp of Kellerton and Lloyd of McCracken, Kansas, seven sisters, Ella Camp of McCracken, Kan., Mrs. Manning of Ames, Iowa, Mrs. Dooling of Aspen, Colo., and Mrs. Emmerson of Kellerton Mrs. Cope of Kalispell, Mont., Mrs. Haynes of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mrs. Connor of Basine, Kansas.
He was taken seriously ill in January and continued in critical condition until his death which came early Friday morning, August 14, 1914.
The funeral services were held in the Methodist Church in Decatur Sunday at eleven, conducted by the pastor Rev. Cunningham. Burial was in the Kellerton Cemetery.
