MORSE FAMILY

In 1939 Mrs. Milo MORSE apparently was using a kerosene lamp to start a fire. Consequently, the house caught fire. Four of the MORSE children aged from 11 years to 16 years (sic) died in the fire. Mrs. MORSE, who was badly burned, died two weeks later. Mr. Milo MORSE and his son Everett were in the barn milking cows when the fire broke out, consequently escaping injury. The MORSES lived southwest of Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa.

Those who died as a result of the fire were:
Maude E. (KIMBLE) MORSE, born 1902; died 1939
Ruby M. MORSE, born 1921; died 1939
Evelyn L. MORSE, born 1923; died 1939
William F. MORSE, born 1933; died 1939
Mary L. MORSE, born 1939; died 1939
They were interred at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa.
