C. L. JONES DEAD.

Chauncey L. JONES was born in Trumball Co., O., May 13 1832, died at his home in Hoisington [Kansas], Feb. 3, 1902. Mr. JONES came to western Kansas in 1878 and was continuously a resident of this part of state to the time of his death. He was married May 24, 1886. to Mary F. POORE, of Ringgold county, Iowa. Mrs. JONES died in 1887. The deceased leaves five children to mourn his loss: John L., Frank J., Ella BUTLER, Nettie and L. Mae.

The deceased had been suffering from dropsy for some time and his demise was momentarily expected. He was a member of the Masonic and I.O.O.F. lodges, who had charge of the funeral rites at the residence Tuesday morning. The remains were buried in the Great Bend cemetery Tuesday.
