SUDDEN DEATH TAKES MRS. HARRY EAGER
ILL BUT A FEW HOURS

A shock to her family as well as to her many friends was the sudden death at 1:20 o'clock this afternoon of Mrs. EAGER, wife of Harry M. [Bertha Evelyn (JOOS)) EAGER, at her home on North Fourth Avenue. Mrs. EAGER was slightly indisposed this morning due to a headache but was up and around until a short time before her death. Her daughter Mildred, aged,had taken dinner to her mother and had just reached her bedside when Mrs. EAGER passed away. Death was due to heart trouble, from which she had been ailing for some time. Mrs. EAGER was at a social gathering Wednesday afternoon and from all appearances seemed to be as well as ever. Mildred was the only one with her mother at the time of her death.

Mrs. EAGER is survived by her husband, two sons Thornton and Lawrence and daughter Mildred. She had made her home in Jamestown for many years. Surviving her besides her family are a sister, Mrs. Floyd NOWLIN and father Marin JOOS, also of this city.

Funeral arrangements will be announced tomorrow.

LAST RITES HELD FOR MRS. H. EAGER - BURIAL IN ILLINOIS
Funeral services for Mrs. Harry M. EAGER, who died last week, were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Congregational church, Rev. C. H. PHILLIPS, pastor, officiating. The remains were taken east on No. 2 today accompanied by Mr. EAGER, three children, Mildred, Thornton and Lawrence and Dr. Earl EAGER of Mount Ayr, Iowa. Burial will be at Earlville, Illinois. Thornton EAGER, who came to Jamestown for the funeral services from Parris Island, will return to his station following the burial.

Among those present for the last rites were Mr. and Mrs. Lorenz JOOS, of Beulah, N.D., aunt and uncle of the deceased and with whom she lived for a number of years, when they resided on a farm north of Jamestown. A brother of Mrs. EAGER, Emil JOOS of Desart, N.D. was also present.

Mrs. EAGER was born in Jamestown March 13, 1883 and was the daughter of Martin and Mary BLESNER JOOS, the mother dying when Mrs. EAGER was a little girl. She then went to live with her uncle and attended the Jamestown public schools. She united with the United Congregational church on confession on July 7, 1901, and was married to Harry EAGER on May 31, 1903.

In 1905 the family left Jamestown residing for a time at Salt Lake City and later at Avoca, Iowa, returning to Jamestown in July, 1915. Last Easter, Mrs. EAGER and daughter Mildred joined the Jamestown Congregational church. Besides her husband and three children, Mrs. EAGER is survived by her father and sister, Martin JOOS and Mrs. Alice NOWLIN of Jamestown, a sister Mrs. M. M. BARBER of Blaine, Washington, and a brother Emil JOOS of Desart.
