OBITUARY.
DIED--In Mt. Ayr. Satarday (sic) morning May 3d. Dr. D. F. SELLARDS in the 43rd year of his age.
He was born in Jackson county, Ohio, July 16th, 1836, where he lived until 1853 when he came to Ringgold county. When he came here he was in poor health and purse. But as soon as his health would permit, he commenced in the study of medicine under Dr. HUGGINS. He showed great adpatability to the study and soon became proficient in all that pertains to medical lore.--When he had sufficiently mastered it, he commenced practicing and was very successful. He continued in medicine until he and Mr. DUNNING started the first bank in Mt. Ayr. After several years of successful business he withdrew and soon after started a new bank with W. T. LAUGHLIN. In this he continued until his death.
He was a man of immense brain power, and made a handsome fortune by his own endeavers, starting entirely without capital. He had a very interesting family of boys, who, we vouch, will act well their part in the world's mad strife.
On Sunday Rev. Mr. TEDFORD made a few appropriate remarks and the I. O. O. F. brethren bore him to his rest. The concourse was one of the largest we have ever seen, there being 36 carriages and wagons in the procession.
