In the 1931 city directory for Council Bluffs, Frank G. and Ellen Prouty were residing on 7th Avenue. Thomas I. and Mildred Prouty were at the same address. There was also an Edith Prouty in Council Bluffs, widow of Herbert, living on Turley Ave.

In 1941, ten years later, Frank and Ellen M. Prouty are living on Avenue B. Thomas I. and Mildred L. are on 8th Avenue, and he's shown as County Treasurer.

In 1945, Frank G. and Ellen are still in Council Bluffs, but Thomas is not listed. There is, however, an Arth. B. and Gladys A. Prouty in town.
