Hi Todd,
Here is what I have on the David Roberts immigration. I believe they were in Omaha in the 1860 census.
-- On-line Mormon Immigration database (Jul 2001): David Roberts family immigrated on the S. Curling leaving Liverpool 22 Apr 1855 and arriving New York 22 May 1855. Family consists of David, Mary, William, David, Rosa, Mary, and Margaret.
Incidentally, David Roberts was killed by a neighbor, Jonathan Jones, who was acquitted of murder. They had a conflict over one of the wives. (Do you happen to know whether it was David's or Jonathan's?)
Beware that there may be two Jonathan Jones, of about the same age, living in the neighborhood. Some material on the internet is therefore suspect.
The one Jonathan Jones was married to Sarah Ella Reel, the sister of the Pottawattamie County sheriff at the time, Perry Reel. I suspect it was her husband who did the deed.
Who was your grandparent in your Roberts line?
I assume you know where David Roberts is buried. If not, I can provide more info.
Thanks for writing.
