First marriage

MEANS, REYNOLDS, SMITH

My grandfather, Martin Luther Smith, married Mary E. Means 12 Dec 1877 in Council Bluffs. Mary had previously been married to a Reynolds. She entered the marriage with Martin with two children, Nettie & William H. Reynolds.

Would like to find the full name of the first husband, if at all possible.

Mary was born & mostly raised in Montgomery County, from what I have pieced together after her mother expired in 1857 she and a sister, Martha J. were sent to live first with their grandmother until her death in 1867 then the girls were once again sent to another relative to finish growing up.
Appreciate any information to fill in some holes as I have just about run into the proverbial "brick wall".
