While in Ames, Rod worked for the Iowa Department of Transportation as a chainman, inspector and draftsman, and with Affiliated Realty, Century 21 and Gray Real Estate, where several life long friendships were established.
Moving to Des Moines in 1979, Rod found himself in the investment business with Merrill Lynch Pierce Funner and Smith, Piper Jaffary and Hopwood and finally at RBC Wealth Management. The family would like to extend many thanks to the doctors and staff who assisted Rod in his treatments. Special thanks to the Waukee Rotary and RBC Wealth Management for their kindness and support for Rod and his family during this ordeal.
His body has been cremated and will be committed at a later date at the Murray, Iowa Cemetery.
