Wise, Neva Bridgman - 1914-2011

Neva died on October 12, 2011 at her residence, Silver Crest in West Des Moines, IA. Neva was born July 17, 1914 on a farm in Stanhope, IA. The family moved to Ames where Neva graduated from Iowa State University. Neva married Charles (Chuck) Bridgman an Architectural Engineer. Two children followed, daughter Jan Godby, son John. The Bridgman's lived in Washington, D.C. area, Cornwall, N.Y. and the Des Moines, area. After Chuck's death Neva busied herself as a legislative secretary.
In 1973 Neva married Don Wise. Her family was extended to Sally Hutton (Bill) and Cindy Bauge (Harry) also with two grandchildren Craig and Missy.
Neva's interests and activities were varied, ranging from, bowling, golf, card games, Tri T, Questors, PEO, and many church activities. She was especially proud of being one of the original founders of the Aldersgate Methodist Church in Urbandale.
Neva is survived by her daughter Jan (John) Godby, and son John (Gretchen) Bridgman, and step-daughter Cindy (Harry) Bauge, seven grandchildren, one step-granddaughter, and 16 great-grandchildren, and 5 step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Saturday evening at Westover funeral home. A Funeral service will be held on Sunday at Aldersgate United Methodist Church at 2:30 p.m. Private burial will be Monday at Resthaven Cemetery in W.Des Moines.Memorial contributions may be direct to Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
