Catherine M. (Reynolds) Remakel, 48 and devoted wife and mother, passed away Thursday, October 13. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, October 17 at Assumption of the BVM Church in Granger, Iowa. A second service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, October 20 at St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Dubuque, Iowa with entombment at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Dubuque.
Cathy was born January 8, 1963 in Glendale, California. She married Brian Remakel in Dubuque on August 8, 1987. She received her BA from Loras College and her Masters of Public Administration from Drake University. She worked most recently at Iowa Student Loan in West Des Moines. She was an active volunteer in a number of church and community activities, and continues her generosity as an organ donor.
Cathy is survived by and will be sadly missed by her husband, Brian (Johnston, IA); her children, Caitlin and Christopher; her parents, Freda and Rex Reynolds (Dubuque, IA); her brothers, Richard (Baldwin, WI), Robert (Ranson, WV) and Ronald (East Lansing, MI); her parents-in-law, Wanda and Don Remakel (Dubuque, IA); her sister-in-law, Angella Link (Dubuque, IA); and brother-in-law, Jonathan (Dubuque, IA); as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
