Berta Leib, 87, died October 11, 2011 at her residence in Ankeny. She was born February 19, 1924 in Regen, Bavaria, to Karl and Maria Zaglauer.
She came to the United States as a German immigrant in 1956, and was a proud U.S. citizen.
Berta is survived by her sons, Hans Zaglauer and Victor (Karen) Zajcew; daughter, Brigitta "Getty" (Juan) Zajcew; step-daughter, Emma (Franz) Ringyl; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, five sisters, and a brother.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to neighbor and friend, Richard and Fran.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m., Friday, October 14, 2011, at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines. A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, October 15, 2011 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Dodge House, Camp Dodge, (photo ID required upon admittance).
