The coroner’s jury in the case of Mrs. Wert, who died at Des Moines from the effects of taking morphine, returned a verdict holding her husband, William Wert, and his brother, Peter Wert, on charges of murder in the first degree, they having been present when the poison was administered, and the jury believed, from the evidence adduced, administered the drug themselves.
