PNEUMONIA TAKES LIFE CHILD
Enid, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. V. G. Adams southwest of town, passed away at the Akron ospital late Friday afternoon, March 18, 1932, after a nine weeks’ illness of pneumonia, aged 4 years, 5 months and 19 days. The child was taken to the hospital about five weeks before and a hard fight was made by physicians, nurses and relatives against the insidious malady. A few days before the summons came there seemed to be a quite marked improvement in the little one’s condition, but a sudden turn for the worse could not be withstood by the constitution weakened by weeks of severe illness.
Enid was a bright and lovable child and her taking away came as a crushing blow to the parents and other near relatives.
Enid was born in Union county, S. D., August 28, 1927. Besides her parents she is survived by three brothers and one sister, Robert, Edward, John Philip and Jeanette Adams. The sympathy of the community goes out to the bereaved family.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in the First Baptist church, conducted by Rev. R. E. Brown. There was a large attendance of sympathizing friends. Interment was in Riverside cemetery.
Relatives present from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Christy and family, Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Little and family, Mr. and Mrs. W. Bert Smith, Mrs. C. Atkinson, of Sioux City Miss Inez Cobb, of Newton, Ia.; H. H. Pember, of Rock Valley, Ia.
