Louis P. Hoffman, 77, Sedatia, Mo., died Friday, Jan 16, 1998, at his home.

Services were held Tuesday, Jan. 20 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Sedalia, with Rev. Father Tome Albers officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Randy Klein, William Burns, Jim Esseleman, Cecil Gerke, Emmet Cook and Al Stetzenbach.

Mr. Hoffmann was born July 1, 1920, in Merrill, Iowa, the son of Theodore F. and Elizabeth (Wiltgen) Hoffmann.

He married Jennie M. Van Asma, in Le Mars, Iowa, May 27, 1946. She died Sept. 23, 1988.

He was raised and educated in Le Mars, Iowa, moving to Sedalia in 1966. He was employed at Howard Construction Co., then Howard Ready Mix, and then La Farge Ready Mix as a mechanic.

He was a member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

He was a U. S. Army Veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post 316, of Sedalia.

Survivors include one son, Richard Hoffmann of Hendon, Va.; two daughters, Jo Ann Hoffmann of Olathe, Kan., and Mary Elizabeth Kehl of Smithton, MO.; two brothers, George Hoffmann of Merrill, Iowa, Peter Hoffmann of La Puente, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers.
