Dorothy Craig Bloomquist, 86, of Clarinda, formerly of Burlington, died Sunday, Nov. 9, at her home.
Born May 2, 1900, near Keosauqua, she was the daughter of John A. and Florence Pearson Craig. On Aug. 22, 1928, she married Arthur L. Bloomquist; he died in 1979.
She lived in Burlington for 50 years moving to Clarinda in 1979 after her husband's death. She taught high school in Mount Pleasant and New London. She was active in P.E.O., Daughter of the American Revolution, and King's Daughters. While living in Burlington, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Florence (Robert Gemmel) Brown, Clarinda, and Mrs. Alice (Ben) Winkenwerder, Sutherland, Nev.; one sister, Mrs. Russell Boley, Bloomfield; one brother, Dr. Kenneth Craig, Sun City, Ariz.; and six grandchildren.
Services for Mrs. Bloomquist will be 10 a.m. tuesday at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Clarinda. Graveside services are will 2:45 p.m. Tuesday at the Pittsburg Cemetery.
Memorials have been established for the Westminster Presbyterian Church, Clarinda, and the First United Methodist Church, Burlington. Walker-Merrick Funeral Home, Clarinda, is in charge of arrangements.
