RITES MONDAY FOR MRS. ANNA SPARTZ

Woman, 78, Made Home With Daughter, Mrs. Honkomp in Ashton

Funeral services were held here Monday morning, May 1, at nine o'clock from St. Mary's church for Mrs. Mathew Spartz, nee Anna Vogelsburg, who died Thursday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. Honkomp, April 27, at the age of 78 years.

She had been in declining health for some time. Mrs. Spartz was born May 23, 1856, at Wheatland, Wis. In the year of 1877 she was united in marriage to Mr. Mathew Spartz, who preceded her in death eight years ago.

Since his death, she has been making her home with her daughters. She leaves her seven children: Mrs. Minnie Honkomp of Ashton, Mr. Thomas Spartz of Watertown, S.D., Mrs. George Spartz of Bennis, S.D., Mrs. Mary Halzemer of Kranzburg, S.D., Mrs. Anna Klosterman of Sibley, Mrs. Josephine Tremmel of Sibley, and Mr. Nick Spartz of Watertown, S.D. Fifty grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. There are three sets of twins in the grandchildren.

Six grandsons were pallbearers: Vincent, Leonard and Norbert Honkomp; Otto and Maurice Klosterman and Marcus Spartz.

Out-of-town guests attending the services were: Mr. and Mrs. Reiter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Reiter, William Vogelsberg and son, Valentine Lenz and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Recher, Mrs. Tom Lenz and daughter, Julia, all of Ellsworth, Minn.; Mrs. Tom Lenz, Adrian, Minn.; Mrs. William Mickels , Wilmont, Minn.; Mrs. August Schaffer, Fulda, Minn.; Mrs. Emma Vogelsberg, Sioux City; Mr. and Mrs. John Althoff, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Althoff, and Mrs. Tom Althoff, all of Mooreton, N.D.; Emma Vogelsburg, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jellesma, and Mrs. Charles Madison, all of Sioux Falls, S.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Boyles, Adrian, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Steve Niesen, Marshall, Minn,; Mrs. William Burke, Ellsworth, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Martin McCordell, Magnolia, Minn.; Mrs. Barbara Seitz and Mrs. Casper Kramer, Miss Regina Lenz, Mr. and Mrs. John Holtz, and Mr. Nick Seigfried, all of Adrian, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Fleck, and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Weidert of Sioux City, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Melcher and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Melcher of Woodstock, Minn.
