LAST RITES HELD FOR PETER B. GRAVES
Services Were Held Here Thursday in Trinity Reformed Church, Burial Here.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock in Trinity Reformed church for Peter B. Graves, a former Sibley resident who died April 21, in Berkley, Calif., at the age of 74 years, 3 months and 21 days.
The Rev. J.M. DeVries of Allison, was in charge of the services and burial in the Sibley Cemetery (now Holman Cemetery).
Peter B. Graves was born January 3, 1875 in Simonvondola, Germany. In 1895 he was united in marriage to Katherine Wessels. To this union five sons were born. The mother and one son preceded him in death.
The four sons who mourn the death of their father are: Bert of Sibley, Harold of Ashton, Clyde of Sioux Falls, S. Dak., and M. Sgt. Clarence of Minneapolis. Also surviving are two brothers, Barney Graves of Sibley and Theodore Graves of Wilmington, Cal., and two sisters, Mrs. Will Turk , Wazetta, Minn., and Mrs. Edward Weidenkoft of Bloomington, Minn., also ten grandchildren and other close relatives.
He later married and moved to Traer, residing until 1946, when they moved to Sioux Falls, S. Dak., living there for a short time, and afterwards moving to Berkley, Calif., where they resided until the time of his passing.
