Funeral services for Elda Harms, age 68, of Melvin, were held at the American Lutheran Church of Melvin on Friday, September 22, with Rev. H. Adix officiating. Burial was in Baker Township Cemetery under the direction of Sanborn Funeral Home.

The former Elda Buccholz was born in Osceola county on Nov. 19, 1909 to John and Amanda (Mielke) Buchholz. She married John T. Harms of Melvin on Oct. 21, 1928; they farmed near Melvin for 31 years and moved to Spencer in 1959. He preceded her in death in 1977, when Mrs. Harms moved to Sanborn and later to Melvin. She died at the Community Memorial Hospital in Sheldon on September 19.

She is survived by two daughters: Ilene (Mrs. Junior Brandt) of Melvin and Neva (Mrs. Kenneth Robinson) of Humboldt; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two brothers: Marvin Buchholz, Turlock, Calif., and Alvin Buchholz, Whittier, Calif.; and one sister, Esther Riecks of Melvin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, one sister and one grandson.
