Funeral services for Virgil "Pat" Bozarth, 70, West Liberty, were held July 31, 1987 at the Snider Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ralph Farmer officiating. The organist was Dorothy Carey. Pallbearers were Donald Wilson, Duane DeVore, Carl Geertz, Louis Fiderlein, Rex Minor and Lester Jensen. Honorary pallbearers were Merle Lenker, Chet Passmore and Sam Sanders. Burial was in the Downey cemetery.
Mr. Bozarth died at his home in West Liberty July 28 following an extended illness.
The son of Clyde and Estella McCully Bozarth, he was born June 29, 1917 in Pattonsburg, Mo. He married Lois Wilson Oct. 5, 1940 in Muscatine. He was a farmer and a trucker in Cedar county most of his life. He also worked in the trucking and shipping department of Louis Rich Foods Co. in West Liberty.
Mr. Bozarth is survived by his wife; son, Ray, West Liberty; 2 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Robert, Pattonsburg, Mo. and Clifford, New Franklin, Mo. and 2 sisters, Opal Sweet. St. Joseph, Mo. and Hazel Ahart, Pattonsburg, Mo. He was preceded in death by a brother.
